… Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela! This was the first time back-to-back winners were from the same country. She is a remarkable woman and we wish her the best of luck as Miss Universe 2009.
I had the unique experience of having a picture with Ms. Fernandez after winning her crown (which she dropped after having it placed on her head, woops.). She was very pleased to receive one each of the DXG Luxe Collection camcorders as a part of her prize package.
I also met and had pictures taken with Mr. Donald Trump. (I’ll post pictures as soon as I’m back.) The Donald’s comment was: “Great looking cameras! My staff members love them.” Very exciting!
I spoke one last time with Ms. Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, who had some very nice things to say about the DXG Luxe Collection: “So nice looking and easy to use.” Muchas gracias!
The Coronation Ball was terrific! Fireworks, fantastic food, music and a great venue. Beautiful people with lots of DXG camcorders to record their memories. A great time all the way around.
Well, its 2am and I have to catch an early flight get back to LA. I have a lot to follow up on after my weekend at the Miss Universe Pageant.
Had a great time with the producers of the show on a huge yacht called “Mind Games.” It was a nice opportunity to chill out on the afternoon before the Pageant.
Everyone from NBC and the Pageant were busy with the final run-through and dress rehearsals. Should I feel guilty? No way!
We did discuss how a number of the contestants were going to talk with us about how much they liked their Luxe Collection Camcorders. Of course we may need a translator for some of interviews, and I hope we’ll have an opportunity to speak with Miss USA. Lots of strategy to discuss! Mixing work with play….
We received our tickets and we are right up front. I also received a backstage pass for after the show and a wristband to attend the coronation party. Looks like I will be up pretty late. Thank goodness my flight is at 2pm on Monday! The producers are leaving at 7am…better them than me.
Exciting Morning ! I received my credentials which allow access everywhere within the venue. It is an incredible production with hundreds of staff people working long hours to produce two hours of prime time Television.
I met with many of the production people, including Paula Shugart, the President of the Miss Universe Organization. All of them are telling me how excited and happy the contestants are with DXG’s Luxe Collection High Definition Camcorders. They are all using them in their off time.
I saw the proofs of two commercials which will be running on the Miss Universe Website and will also be available on the DXG site. One features Dayana Mendoza, the 2008 Titleholder and another features a number of the other contestants. I met with Dayana who told me how much fun she has had with her camcorder.
I can really get used to this !
All the contestants have been rehearsing for the show for days. They start at 7am and stop at 11pm. They must be exhausted after a 16 hour work schedule. They do not seem to show the fatigue… what troopers! All of them have taken the time to thank me for their DXG Luxe Camcorders. They all are beautiful, intelligent and gracious women. All of them deserve to win the crown. Too bad there can only be one Miss Universe 2009.

Left Miami on a little puddle jumper and arrived at Nassau Airport 40 minutes later. Customs was a breeze. The inspector asked me about my Luxe Collection Camcorders. Wanted to know if they were for personal use or for sale. After assuring him they were personal, he wanted to know where he could purchase one. I let him know that www.dxgusa.com would be happy to accomodate him !
Atlantis hotel is spectacular. Met the folks from Miss Universe Organization in the lobby of the Royal Towers . After checking in, I am free until breakfast tomorrow.
I think I am going to walk around , have a Bahama Mama and check out the casino !
